Research Project E4: Spatiotemporal patterns of resilience and reversibility in relation to functional, taxonomic and phylogenetic diversity in plankton populations

Research Topic

Holocene is of particular interest and importance for paleoecological studies as the earth climate has been relatively stable and human activity started coming into effect. In this timeframe, I am interested in the long-term stability and resilience of lake ecosystem under both natural and anthropogenic environmental variations. I will be using sediment DNA from Lake Constance to look at various aquatic communities dated from Late Pleistocene to present.
